Make Up School :)

YAY! finally I've enrolled in a make up school~
Jo barba Make Up School and Studio! yay!

In case you don't know Jo Barba, She is a pioneer in the make up industry in the Wedding Category. She is also a make up artist to the stars. She's even considered as an Honorary Member at UMAP (United Make-Up Artists of  the Philippines).

Ms. Jo. No. she's not the blonde girl :)

My school is not so popular yet, because we are the first students of their program. It was only opened this February 2013.

I chose this school because of these reasons:
1.) it is near our house
2.) teachers came from the original MAQUILLAGE PROFESSIONEL w/c formerly is handled by Make up forever. (MUFE already closed down here in the Philippines, and their supported school maquillage is not anymore connected to MUFE, well that's what I heard)
3.) make up is provided by the school (we use cinema secrets)
4.) we have 2 teachers alternating to teach us, they both work with big stars on screen so they are giving us their trade secrets <3
5.)  It's has the smallest student-teacher ratio 1 teacher, 5 students
6.)  IT IS NEAR OUR HOUSE!! (I really can't believe it)

It's located in the heart of Quezon City, near the original PARES house in SN Amoranto or RETIRO

I enrolled for a Module 1 course. This course is for those who wants to be a Make Up Artist and do it as a career in the future.

It is actually for 12 sessions, but compress to 6 sessions (meaning we have 2 topics to cover per session)

As of now, I'm in the 4th session, meaning that I've already tackled 8 topics.
Tuition already includes make-up (MUFE style). So we only have to bring our brushes (luckily I have plenty!)

I'll post a different blog on my before and afters :)
But I'll post pics of the school so you guys can get an idea  :D

I can say I'm only at the 4th session on my course and I already feel satisfied, I've learned a lot. Before what I did with make-up was chamba-chamba lang (my own discretion of what I know) . Now I'm much more confident with what I do for my clients. To put into perspective, pak na pak na ang funda! at kaya kong ng kumabog ng eyeshadow. haha! 

ok post ko na yung DAY 1 and 2 ko...

my day 1 was a so-so, but my day 2 was much better :D

a quicky update

Just a quick update:

SATURDAY:

Make up: Geline(from the previous blog) liked her look lst time for her pre-debut shoot, hired me for the actual debut <3

Mom's client got really happy, gave me a tip! (pats myself at the back for a job well done)

as for Plan B collective it was our first time covering an event and we were successful <3

SUNDAY:
movie date with Himitsu Heiki (my bf's band) we watched:

yeah!

Didn't really like the story (the story is lame-o), but the whole movie has that eye-candy effect. Nice production, cinematography, but the story is a blaaaahgggg...you will remember it because of the girls. I like the make ups tho, nice! I give it 2 out of  5.

im sleepy naw! I will have my massage tomorrow with some friendssss exciteeedd!

Cosmetics galore!

My very first mini make up haul, I realize that I'm not suitable for this haul thingy because buying make up/beauty products can be too pricey, well everyone has their first, right?

whew! to tell you the truth I had fun shopping for these items!

I'm disappointed in etude house(north edsa the block branch) for not giving me freebies *mad* I been buying a lot of my products there but they never gave me good freebie, buti pa sa SM fairview and megamall branch, worth 300 lang na avail ko and I already have a free BB cream sachet, pero pinangregalo ko sayang...

Napabili ako bigla ng belo skin care, because I was hearing some good reviews on belo's products, I even heard from belo, that if you have super oily skin you can use belo for men because it is potent. I like that the toner has a whitening ingredient already such as glutathione, kojic acid and giga white,  GET THIS, IT IS SURPRISINGLY CHEAP TOO! the toner cost around 39.00pesos per 60 ml, that is cheaper than ponds!
I'm looking forward to buying the whole skin care system pero as of now what I really need is a toner so yun ang binili ko.

As for the sun block, well I was about to go home when a sales lady from belo called me and said I have to test there sunblock, and will give me a ton of freebies if I do buy the sunblock. I was really planning to buy a sunblock anyway so I went, I was surprise that belo's sunblock is NOT STICKY and REMAINS UNSCENTED. I'm a fan of not sticky products because my face tend to oil up, I've tried banana boat just because of the high SPF, but I really dont like the smell and the sticky feeling. I grabbed the face sunblock with SPF 40 (they also have the body sunblock with SPF 60 for 399) , for 299, it's really cheap considering the saleswoman is giving me tons of freebies. The sales person is really intelligent about the product, kaya mas na convince ako, She even gave me 2 facial wash samplers so I was really happy. This is great for summer so grab it na.

(hey  Dr. vicky belo, if you ever read this you have to give me free facials sobra na ang free advertising ko sa product mo, hehe)

I also bought myra-e moisturizer because my ponds moisturizer is turning into liquid (yung parang nag hihiwalay na siya, liquid then may buo buo, I wouldn't put that on my face) I heard from an officemate named ela (haha), that it is quite good. Well for 99pesos it's a steal, *it also involves a sales lady who gave me vitamin e tablets as freebies* anyway I tested it just now and it feels great already, it's also non-sticky, it absorbs quickly , im happy!


on other make up news, I did a make up look on myself again! haha! this time I was trying to make my eyes bigger!

hello you people! anyway, I have promise a make up blog update. hehe well here it is! this is going to be a long one...anyway first off i want to show you my stuff  >__<

I really have enough, but I want MOAR! oh mag ttwelve na pala gosh!

It's really difficult to dictate to you one by one, I have probably acquired it about september of last year(2010) and its been growing ever since. kung ano ano nalang talga ang binibili ko, yung box kit regalo sakin ni BF yay! I have various brands: etude, loreal, nichido, dollface(costal scents), face shop, elianto, avon...etc..ewan basta bili lang ako ng bili, then naging ganyan na sila, and believe me di ko sila magamit pag lalabas ako, tintamad ksi ako mag make-up, I am a person n doesnt care how I look like, basta nakakakita ako ng magnda ok na ko, I only use facepowder and then lipgloss then thats it, sometimes I forget my kit at home pa so I go bare face pag pumpsok ako >__<

But I know one thing gusto ko mag make up ng tao! Gusto ko ng photoshoot at styling hahaha!

anyway today (or should I say tonite) I was itching to do a look, para may m blog ako haha!
I went home with this new tweezers na binili ko sa watsons for 40 pesos, bumili din ako ng eyebrow pencil sa etude 128 pesos , fanny serano lash curler (slim) 125pesos , lash glue na nichido 60pesos.

eye brow pencil form etude house, I bought mine in a gray shade, really looks natural. I like the brush that goes with retractable pen.

I was fixing my brow after that I applied the pen, hmm looks good, so I got my stuff and do a LOOK.

the photography didnt do good on me kasi cellphone lang at panget lighting, yung iba hindi ko i dedeny na phinotoshop ko ( I cant help it, sorry) pero yung iba hindi na ksi honestly 1:37 am na and I have to work tomorrow haha, I have to leave you here, but more updates on the coming weeks! yipee!

My first make up gigs!

Yeah I had gigs.

At that time I was so into make-up, ( I dunno why, maybe because I'm suddenly becoming a LADY..haha) I got really obsess by it that I watch michelle phan's videos on youtube over and over again. She's a pro on changing her looks.

I bought an eyeshadow palette online c/o dollface cosmetics http://swtangel.multiply.com/ 

I love it because it has many colors, highly pigmented ( I use this on the looks below) ^_^

I bought the basic 88matte palette that michelle used on some of her vids

I also bought some products on WATSONS/SM. The local ones, together with a set of brushes.

My boss(also my boyfriend's sister) gave me a set of elianto cosmetics, a korean brand.

She gave me a neutral eyeshadow palette, foundation, a white lipliner to start off. (I'll upload pics on my future posts)

My boyfriend had a photoshoot, but didn't have money to hire a make up artist. He needed me for his class because he's taking up basic photography (this was months ago btw, I hadn't blog about it so I'll just post everything on one post)

Ok.  the second gig that I had is another photoshoot with hendirk lerios and edz avancena, they're great photographer friends of mine, I ask them if they want to have a shoot with me being their make-up artist and they've agreed

Then I had a third gig, This one is really challenging because my model is a pageant contestant, Janissa De Leon. Aditha, my other colleague who is also a photographer, invited us to there place at batangas, the weather was so bad, it was raining hard, frequent blackouts, we thought we might not push through to the shoot, but there were times that it was cloudy so we just tried to make out the most of what we have.

It was a two day shoot.

I'm really enjoying being a make-up artist, if you know me personally, I dont do make-up on myself, but I do now(more on that later). I also styled the hair for the shoots above, I really like making people beautiful!
